Barrett N. Bruce

Barrett N Bruce is Vice President – Legal and Corporate Secretary of SunTx Capital Partners.

Before joining SunTx Capital Partners, Mr. Bruce practiced law at Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld, LLP, where he focused on venture capital, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate finance.

Mr. Bruce received his J.D., cum laude, from Texas Tech University School of Law, and his B.A. in Economics from the University of Texas at Austin, where he was a National Merit Scholar. Mr. Bruce is a member of the State Bar of Texas. He was named a Best Corporate Counsel Finalist in 2008 by the Dallas Business Journal.

Mr. Bruce has been a speaker on panels such as “Private Equity Fund Terms and Provisions” and “Issues When Representing a Minority Investor” presented by the Texas State Bar Private Equity Subcommittee, “The In-House M&A Lawyer’s Perspective on Do’s and Don’ts of Doing Deals” presented by the Dallas Bar Association and “Trends in Terms & Conditions Given the Uncertain Economy” presented by Capital Roundtable in New York City at its Master Class on How to Benefit in 2009’s Secondary Marketplace. Mr. Bruce is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Dallas Theater Center.
